Rev. Sungho Lee serves as Senior Pastor of Antioch United Methodist Church and Byron UMC, and as supervising pastor of Pittsburg UMC in California. Over 38 years of ministry, he has led ten congregations, including Santa Clara and Concord UMC, where he helped launch the Concord Village affordable housing project. He chaired the Conference Congregational Development Committee for six years, supporting over 300 churches in renewal and new church starts, and later served on the Los Rios District Strategic Committee to repurpose underutilized church properties.
Rev. Lee earned a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from Northwestern University, an M.Div. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and a B.S. in Law from Seoul National University. He is deeply committed to ministry with diverse and underserved communities, especially LGBTQ youth. Inspired by his transgender daughter, he actively advocates for housing, community networks, and life-skills support to help vulnerable young people thrive.
